Job description
As a Network Administrator (NetOps/ITSC) , the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the NCIS ITD organization in Quantico, VA.
- Focus on providing essential support for the operation, maintenance, and security compliance of the enterprise network infrastructure.
- Responsible for monitoring the network, responding to alerts, troubleshooting basic network issues, and escalating complex problems to senior engineers.
- Perform routine network checks, addressing user-reported network problems following established procedures, implementing security controls as directed by policy, participating in security audits, and ensuring network operations comply with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., DISA STIGs, NIST frameworks) under supervision.
- Assist with incident response activities, maintaining documentation of common network issues and solutions, managing the provisioning and operation of network resources based on defined processes, and collaborating with other IT teams to resolve issues.

Experience:
5 + years of related experience, * Security Clearance Level: Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Required Experience: 5 years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer network engineering.
- 1 year of specialized experience related to the assigned task.
- Prior experience providing services of this type in a large government environment.
- Experience with CISCO Firepower, Palo Alto, and Juniper.
- Experience with TACLANEs, SolarWinds, IPAM, Kiwi Syslog Server, DHCP, ISE, ACI, NSX, TACACS, RADIUS, MAB, 802.1x, Event Manager Applet, Macro Creation, TFTP, SFTP, Splunk, Microsoft Visio, and Cisco Firewall Management Center.
- Experience with engineering data center and IP backbone networks in a multi-vendor, multiprotocol environment, including networks based on various bandwidths to include T1, DS3, Fiber / Optical, DSL, Ethernet, ATM, Frame Relay, and Ethernet over Copper core, distribution, and access media including routers, switches and firewalls.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA) is desirable.
- Experience with Bootable media creation (Rufus) and Cisco licensing. Experience with engineering data center and IP backbone networks in a multi-vendor, multiprotocol environment including networks.
- Required Certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE required; Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA) is desired.
- Education: BS Degree in technical discipline.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $35.04 - $47.40. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
