Job description

Zurich North America is hiring a Construction Senior Insights Analyst to join our Specialties Team in our Schaumburg office. We are open to hiring talent located within a commutable distance of our Schaumburg office location to benefit from our flexible, hybrid working arrangements., * Analyze large, complex data sets to identify trends, risks, and portfolio insights e.g. underwriting, claims, etc.

  • Deliver data and insights to track strategies and perform deep-dives to support day-to-day business needs.
  • Develop analytical models and frameworks to support portfolio performance assessment and growth scenarios.
  • Produce high-quality business intelligence outputs, including dashboards, analytical exhibits, and executive-level summaries.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for underwriting and senior leadership audiences.
  • Support scenario analysis and forecasting related to portfolio mix.
  • Ensure analytical outputs are transparent, well-documented, and defensible, with clear assumptions and definitions.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, portfolio management, and central data teams to improve data quality, consistency, and usability.
  • Respond to ad-hoc analytical requests supporting underwriting strategy, audits, and leadership initiatives.
  • Utilize established financial systems to track budgets and highlight variances.
  • Develop simple business cases for defined projects in own area of IT expertise.
  • Look externally to research primary data sources, select relevant information, and continually evaluate key themes in technology.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with 7 or more years of experience in Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics and experience transforming data in the business analysis areaOR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics and 5 or more years of experience transforming data in the business analysis areaOR
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics and 5 or more years of experience transforming data in the business analysis areaOR
  • Masters Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics and 3 or more years of experience transforming data in the business analysis areaOR
  • PhD in Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics and 0 or more years of experience transforming data in the business analysis area, * Masters Degree
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with complex, multi-dimensional datasets.
  • Proficiency with data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI or similar).
  • Ability to clearly communicate analytical insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or a risk-based environment.
  • Familiarity with property or construction insurance concepts.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Experience with programming and database mining tools such as Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, R, Java, SQL and Python
  • Can successfully translate loosely defined business problems into an analytically tractable form
  • Has successfully delivered actionable business insights on a quick turn-around basis
  • Experience working with stakeholders to develop strategy and vision around the ways data and analytics can be leveraged to create value for the business

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply-your unique background matters to us. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed Salary range for this position is $126,800.00 - $207,600.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
