Thriving Mind South Florida is seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Welfare Integration Coordinator to oversee an array of prevention and judicial specialty child welfare support programs on behalf of the Florida Department of Children and Families. This position plays a critical role in coordinating behavioral health services and strengthening collaboration among child welfare, judicial, and community stakeholders to ensure that children and families receive timely, effective, and integrated care.
This position will be reporting directly to the Children's System of Care Manager., ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following, as well as other work-related duties as assigned:
- Collaborates with all aspects of the Child Welfare system including but not limited to: Department of Children and Families Child Protective Investigations Department, Community Based Care (CBC) Lead Agency; Citrus Family Care Network, CBC their subcontracted providers (Full Case Management Agencies) to ensure that the behavioral health needs of children and families involved in or at risk of being involved in the Child Welfare system are met
- Work with the Adult System of Care Manager and the Adult System of Care (ASOC) team to ensure that the behavioral health needs of adults engaged in the Child Welfare system are met
- Work with the Children's System of care manager and the Children System of Care (CSO) team to ensure that the behavioral health needs of children, youth and emerging adults at risk of entering the Child Welfare system are met.
- Work in partnership with the Department's units and staff to assist in keeping families together by ensuring that the behavioral health services for at-risk families are implemented appropriately and timely.
- Serve as the liaison to CBC and its subcontracted provider network
- Monitor contract and programmatic adherence and provide technical assistance to the Child Welfare Integration Specialty Team at Citrus Health, the Motivation Support Program at Guidance Care Center, the Family Intensive Treatment Teams and the Child Welfare Specialty Programs at The Village South and Guidance Care Center, and Healthy Start Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome/Substance Exposed Newborn program.
- Ensure timely submission and analyze data trackers from child welfare specialty programs to monitor for compliance.
- Collect data, design reports, and interpret information for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the Department and various stakeholders.
- Advise provider agencies on Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) and assist the providers with the implementation of those EBPs as needed.
- Assist providers in balancing access, quality of care, and cost efficiency.
- Attend meetings within the System of Care to provide updates and technical assistance pertinent to the child welfare system, as requested.
- Provide ongoing training and technical assistance, support, and coaching to the Department's CPI units, CBC, and their subcontracted provider network regarding Thriving Mind South Florida services and resources within the Children and Adult Systems of care.
- Collaborate with CBC and the Department to develop policies, procedures, and or protocols regarding shared responsibilities, management of children, youth, and emerging adults that touch both child-serving systems.
- Represent Thriving Mind South Florida at workshops, on task forces, boards and other meetings as needed.
- Attend all required Thriving Mind training and meetings.
- Complete all tasks assigned by the Children's System of Care Manager or senior staff of Thriving Mind.
- Perform other related duties and special projects, including community-based and/or agency events as assigned.
- Assume other tasks as assigned by the Children's System of Care Manager necessary toward the Child Welfare Integration Coordinator role or Thriving Mind South Florida mission.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Child welfare services?, Do you have a Master's degree?, QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Knowledge of the Child Welfare and Children's system of care, including admission criteria and clinical assessment instruments used in both child serving systems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Master's Degree preferred with at least 3-years' experience in the child welfare related field required.
