Job description
Under general direction of the Information Technology Manager, this position assists in basic installation, programming, troubleshooting and maintenance of data networks, hardware, software, VOIP phone system and other related systems, replacing components when necessary. Performs complex computer systems analysis; desktop, peripheral and application support for all City departments and offices., ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Basic knowledge on administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations. Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system problems. Replace faulty network hardware components when required. Assist with maintaining, configuring, and monitoring virus protection software and email applications. Monitoring network performance to maintain optimal performance. Confer with network users to solve existing system problems. Assist with computer network access and use for employees and vendors for local and remote access. Assist with configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software. Assist with maintenance and programming of VOIP phone system. Assist with master IP address list management and continuous updating. Perform front line help desk respond to requests for technical assistance in the form of telephone calls, walk-ins and trouble tickets. Break/Fix for Workstations/Printers/scanners in City buildings. Install updates for Windows OS/install approved applications on workstations. Replace PCs as scheduled. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Do you have experience in WAN?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, Associate's degree or equivalent technical training or combination of training and experience required. A minimum of one (1) year of network security, LAN and WAN experience required. Computer Skills - Microsoft Server, Windows all versions, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox. Background-Must be able to pass a background check and obtain security clearance and access to necessary software and applications (Police Department - CJIS) Certificates, Licenses, Registrations-Valid class "C" driver's license. Certifications in technology industry preferred, but not limited to: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE). Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA+), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
