Job description
Cityside Fiber is seeking a motivated NOC Operator to join our Network Operations Center team. This role is responsible for ensuring continuous network operation and optimal performance and plays a key part in maintaining SLA compliance and incident response. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
This positions hours will be fully overnight, (9PM - 6AM), Sunday - Thursday. Please do not apply if you cannot work the hours needed.
Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues using network management tools.
- Respond to alarms, alerts, and incidents promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal network performance.
- Investigate and troubleshoot network-related incidents and outages.
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues and escalate problems as needed.
- Document incident details, resolutions, and post-incident reports for continuous improvement.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks, including software upgrades and configuration changes, during maintenance windows.
- Work with engineering and operations teams to implement changes in the network infrastructure.
- Effectively communicate with internal teams, external vendors, and customers to provide updates on incidents and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless customer experience and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for NOC tasks and responsibilities.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Communication skills?, * 1-3 years of hands-on experience in a Network Operations Center or similar environment.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, and network architectures.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and incident management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 shift environment, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- CompTIA Network+ or equivalent (preferred)
