Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Data Analyst interested in ecological restoration along the Gulf Coast. In this vital support role for the Gulf Coast Ecological Restoration Council, you will support the GCERC and play a critical role in data management, records management, program tracking, reporting, and process improvement activities.

The successful candidate will assist with maintaining program data, supporting records management initiatives, tracking project activities and field site visits, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and preparing programmatic documents, presentations, and reports. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with geographically dispersed teams and stakeholders., * Develop, organize, maintain, and quality-check datasets supporting ecosystem restoration programs, records management initiatives, and reporting requirements.

  • Support data entry, data validation, and quality assurance activities for information maintained in SharePoint and other program management systems.
  • Assist with tracking application assignments, reviews, and program activities by developing and maintaining data tracking tools and reports.
  • Extract, compile, analyze, and summarize data from multiple sources to support program management, technical evaluations, operational reporting, and decision-making.
  • Coordinate with records management personnel and program staff to identify, track, and resolve records management issues.
  • Maintain records management tracking spreadsheets and reporting tools to monitor compliance, progress, and outstanding actions.
  • Organize, catalog, and maintain program records and documentation in accordance with federal records management requirements and organizational procedures.
  • Track completion of field site visits and associated observation forms, provide reminders to staff, and maintain related tracking reports.
  • Monitor and track staff assignments, action items, project milestones, and document development schedules.
  • Attend program meetings, actively listen, capture meeting notes, and prepare and distribute meeting summaries and action-item trackers.
  • Draft, edit, format, and finalize programmatic documents, reports, correspondence, presentations, and other written materials.
  • Develop and revise charts, graphics, figures, and visual products for reports, presentations, and program communications.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other process documentation.
  • Prepare recurring status reports summarizing project activities, accomplishments, risks, and progress toward program objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication, information sharing, and project execution.
  • Support special projects, conferences, meetings, and other program initiatives as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal records management, information security, and organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Visual communication design?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Management, Business Administration, Data Science, Public Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

  • Experience organizing, managing, and maintaining datasets, records, and information repositories.
  • Experience extracting, compiling, analyzing, and reporting data to support operational, technical, financial, or management activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Experience using Google Workspace applications, including Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, presentations, meeting summaries, and professional correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft, edit, format, and maintain technical and administrative documentation.
  • Experience creating charts, graphics, dashboards, presentations, and other data visualization products.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate activities across multiple projects, priorities, and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply procedural guidance, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Experience with records management practices, document control, or information governance processes preferred.
  • Experience supporting federal government programs, grants management, environmental programs, or restoration initiatives preferred.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint administration, document repositories, and collaboration platforms preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to receive training, follow direction, and adapt to evolving program needs.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to successfully pass a federal background investigation.
  • Ability to work onsite in the New Orleans, Louisiana area and travel occasionally in support of program activities.
