Job description

  • Install, configure, and maintain network equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and Ethernet switches to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct fiber splicing and cabling tasks using hand tools and power tools to support data center connectivity infrastructure.
  • Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including low voltage wiring in accordance with NEC standards.
  • Utilize schematics and technical diagrams to diagnose issues related to computer hardware, telecommunication systems, and VoIP setups.
  • Execute preventative maintenance procedures on data center equipment to minimize downtime and extend hardware lifespan.
  • Assist with power distribution setup, equipment repair, and replacement of faulty components within the data center environment.
  • Support field service operations by responding promptly to on-site technical requests from clients or internal teams.
  • Document all work performed using detailed reports and update network diagrams as necessary.
  • Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers for equipment repairs or upgrades involving CAT5, CAT6 cabling or other telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards such as NEC regulations while handling electrical components or working at heights.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN configurations, Ethernet protocols, and network installation procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and cabling standards (Cat5e, Cat6).
  • Familiarity with telephony systems such as Avaya or similar VoIP platforms.
  • Strong background in electrical work related to low voltage wiring, power tools usage, and equipment repair.
  • Experience working with schematics, technical manuals, and network diagrams for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as NEC regulations for electrical safety.
  • Ability to operate testing tools like ohmmeters and network analyzers effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
  • Prior exposure to data center environments with a focus on maintaining high availability and reliability.
