Job description
In this role, you'll be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving network and system incidents to ensure the stability, performance, and uptime of our clients' IT environments. As a NOC Technician, you'll work closely with senior technicians and engineers, escalating complex issues as needed while helping maintain a secure, reliable, and high-performing network infrastructure.
This is a night shift position, working 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM, Friday through Monday, based in our Ashburn, VA corporate office.
Responsibilities
- Monitor network alerts and respond to incidents, ensuring timely resolution or escalation of tickets
- Provide technical support via phone, email, and proactive monitoring across servers, workstations, and network devices
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and telephony issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring service continuity
- Escalate complex or undocumented issues to senior technicians or engineers as appropriate
- Perform basic Cisco network administration, including assisting with router/switch configurations, patch cabling, and upgrades
- Validate performance and functionality of network devices, services, and protocols against established standards
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of incidents, resolutions, and network configurations
- Operate effectively within a 24/7 NOC environment, managing workload and prioritizing tasks appropriately
Requirements
Do you have experience in Communication skills?, * 1-2 years of experience in a NOC or technical support environment
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience using ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, SolarWinds, Remedy)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
- Familiarity with Cisco networking equipment and basic configuration tasks
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
What Sets You Apart
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Networking, Engineering or a related field of study
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing and pulling. Must have the physical ability to lift 50lbs to 60lbs on a regular or daily basis.
