Job description

This role is for engineers who want real ownership.

You will join a small engineering team at an early-stage healthcare AI startup where engineers ship product, own large areas of the system, and make meaningful technical decisions. This is not a role where you are handed tickets or pixel-perfect specs.

You will work directly with the founding engineer to design, build, and ship features that power software used inside real medical practices. The team relies heavily on modern AI tools to move faster and expects engineers to use AI in their development workflow to eliminate repetitive work and focus on higher-level problem solving.

The right person is independent, product-minded, comfortable with ambiguity, and excited to build systems that solve real operational problems in healthcare., We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale our platform. This is an early engineering hire who will take ownership of major product initiatives and help shape how the system evolves.

You will collaborate closely with the founding engineer and leadership team while working independently on meaningful parts of the product.

This role requires someone who can move quickly, understand the product deeply, and build production-ready systems without heavy oversight.

What You'll Do

  • Own major product features from concept through production
  • Design and build full-stack functionality used by healthcare practices
  • Develop integrations with EMRs, APIs, and document ingestion pipelines
  • Build systems that process medical documentation and structured patient data
  • Use AI tools in the development process to increase velocity and efficiency
  • Contribute to architecture and technical direction of the platform
  • Work closely with leadership and customers to understand real product needs

Technology Stack

The current stack is intentionally simple and pragmatic.

  • Frontend: React
  • Backend: TypeScript
  • Database: PostgreSQL
  • Infrastructure: AWS

Strong candidates do not need deep experience in every tool, but should be comfortable working across a modern full-stack TypeScript environment.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software engineering?, * Strong React experience

  • Product mindset with an eye for usability and design
  • Comfortable contributing to backend systems

Backend / Infrastructure Engineer

  • Strong backend development experience
  • Experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure
  • Comfortable managing APIs, integrations, and data systems

Both profiles should be capable of working across the stack when needed.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience shipping production software independently
  • Strong product sense and ability to solve ambiguous problems
  • Comfortable working in small startup teams with high ownership
  • Regular use of AI tools in the development workflow
  • Strong communication skills, especially in remote environments
  • Curiosity about customer problems and willingness to engage with users

Nice to Have

  • Experience building AI-enabled products
  • Experience with healthcare systems, EMRs, or regulated environments
  • Experience integrating APIs and document ingestion pipelines
  • Startup or early-stage company experience

About the company

We are a medical technology startup building software that integrates directly into private healthcare practices. Our platform connects with fax systems, email, and electronic medical records (EMRs) to automatically collect documents, extract structured data, and deliver that information directly into patient charts. The company launched in early 2025 and currently has a small team of eight employees. Our engineering team is intentionally lean and focused on using AI-enabled development to build powerful systems with a small number of engineers. Pay: Up to $180,000.00 per year
