Job description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong ETRM and Endur expertise to join our growing technology team in Glasgow. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in test automation, energy trading systems, and quality engineering within complex front-to-back trading environments. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of critical trading applications, with a particular focus on Openlink Endur and associated ETRM platforms., * Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites for Endur/ETRM applications
- Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, traders, and QA teams to define testing strategies and acceptance criteria
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing across trading and risk systems
- Validate trade lifecycle workflows including front office, risk, settlements, and reporting processes
- Support CI/CD initiatives and integrate automated testing into deployment pipelines
- Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution
- Ensure high levels of system reliability and data integrity across trading platforms
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA standards, automation practices, and testing methodologies
- Participate in release planning, environment management, and production support activities where required
Requirements
- Proven experience as an SDET, QA Automation Engineer, or Software Test Engineer
- Strong experience working with Openlink Endur within an ETRM environment
- Solid understanding of energy trading concepts including commodities, risk, P&L, settlements, and trade lifecycle
- Strong automation testing experience using tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar
- Experience with Java, Python, or C# for test automation development
- Familiarity with SQL and database validation testing
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Desirable Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner
- Understanding of market data integrations and upstream/downstream trading systems
- Experience within commodities, utilities, or energy trading organisations
