Job description
We are seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Developer to join a large-scale technology programme within the financial services sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining modern enterprise applications, working across both backend and frontend technologies in a fast-paced Agile environment.
This role offers the opportunity to work on business-critical systems, leveraging cloud-native technologies, microservices architecture, and modern development practices.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based microservices using Spring Boot.

Build responsive and intuitive front-end applications using Angular or React.

Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to support enterprise-wide applications and services.

Collaborate with business analysts, architects, developers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Ensure application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.

Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering best practices.

Support deployment activities and contribute to CI/CD initiatives.

Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing application support.

Contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend continuous improvements.
Requirements

Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot.

Proven experience developing RESTful APIs and Microservices architectures.

Experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.

Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.

Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Strong understanding of Git and modern version control practices.

Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable Skills

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Knowledge of messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD tools including Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

Understanding of API security frameworks including OAuth2, JWT, and Keycloak.

Experience working within Banking, Financial Services, or Capital Markets environments.
