Job description

  • Administer Windows Server systems across RCC-E enterprise enclaves, performing routine server maintenance, role configuration, user account management, and system health monitoring in accordance with Army IT operational standards
  • Execute patch management and IAVA compliance activities, applying security patches and hotfixes to Windows servers and workstations within required timelines and documenting compliance status for ISSM/ISSO review
  • Manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security configurations, software restrictions, and desktop management policies across the enterprise Active Directory environment
  • Administer user and computer accounts in Active Directory, processing access requests, managing group memberships, and enforcing account lifecycle policies including provisioning, modification, and deprovisioning
  • Conduct STIG compliance assessments using SCAP Compliance Checker and DISA STIG Viewer, document findings, implement remediations, and track open items through the POA&M process
  • Support enterprise IT operations by assisting with server deployments, troubleshooting system issues, coordinating with Tier 3 engineering teams, and contributing to the maintenance of accurate system documentation and configuration baselines

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (STEM/Business Admin) and 5+ years of relevant, specialized experience; or an associate's degree and 7 years specialized experience; or 11 years of experience in lieu of the bachelors degree
  • DoW 8140 - IT (System Administrator) - Advanced
  • Certifications - must hold one active certification (one of the following):
  • MCSA (2012 or 2016); OR
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate; OR
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Azure Administrator Associate; OR
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert; OR
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate; OR
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert; OR
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator
  • Minimum of 4 years of Microsoft Server OS experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Microsoft Server products
  • Minimum of 2 years with U.S. military C2 or commercial LAN/WAN systems
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Active DoW Secret security clearance

Preferred:

  • PowerShell scripting experience for administrative automation, reporting, and compliance task execution
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory administration including GPO management, OU design, and account lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) for patch deployment, software distribution, and OS imaging
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory and hybrid identity management in DoD or government cloud environments
  • Knowledge of Hyper-V virtualization for VM administration and basic resource management
  • Familiarity with DISA STIG Viewer, SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC), and IAVA tracking tools
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms (SCOM, SolarWinds, or equivalent) for Windows server health and alerting
  • Knowledge of Windows Server failover clustering, DNS/DHCP administration, and enterprise print/file services management

Benefits & conditions

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
