Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Network Hardware Support Engineer to provide dedicated onsite support at a customer location in Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with hardware installations, network infrastructure support, and field implementation activities. This role requires working directly at the customer site and supporting the deployment, installation, and troubleshooting of various IT and network-related equipment., Install, configure, and deploy UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems and associated hardware.

Perform installation and implementation of network switches, surveillance cameras, and related infrastructure equipment.

Support onsite network implementation projects and infrastructure upgrades.

Assist with hardware deployment, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting activities.

Perform rack-and-stack activities, cable management, and equipment installation within network closets and data room environments.

Troubleshoot connectivity issues related to network hardware and infrastructure components.

Coordinate with remote network and engineering teams to support project implementation and issue resolution.

Conduct hardware inspections, preventive maintenance, and equipment replacement as required.

Document installation activities, configurations, and project updates.

Follow customer site policies, safety procedures, and implementation standards., The demands below are representative of those required to perform this role's essential functions.   • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move IT equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • May require bending, kneeling, or crouching to install or service equipment.
  • Work is performed primarily in a standard office or data center environment with moderate noise levels.
  • May be required to travel to or work at multiple organizational sites or client locations.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, Experience installing and supporting network infrastructure hardware.

Hands-on experience with network switches, surveillance systems, UPS equipment, and structured cabling.

Basic to intermediate networking knowledge, including:

TCP/IP

VLANs

Switching concepts

Network connectivity troubleshooting

Experience with rack-and-stack, cable management, and hardware deployment activities.

Ability to follow technical implementation plans and work instructions.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.

Ability to work independently in an onsite customer environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure projects.

Familiarity with Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, or similar networking equipment.

Experience with surveillance camera systems and physical security devices.

Knowledge of data center or network closet environments.

Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent are a plus., * Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and directly related work experience sufficient to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Experience

  • Minimum of eighteen (18) months of hands-on experience in a desktop support, help desk, or IT support capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Windows-based environments, including Windows 10 and/or Windows 11.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent vendor-neutral credential.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, or higher-level Microsoft certification., * Network support: 3 years (Required)
  • Hardware support: 3 years (Required)
