Job description
Under the supervision of the Director of IT; manages GECM information technology system alignments, along with the development and implementation of technology solutions. The System Administrator is responsible for implementing, managing, and supporting servers, storage, network services, and core applications to ensure secure, reliable, and highly available IT services for the organization., * Install, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and related infrastructure.
- Manage Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft365, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and identity-related services.
- Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; proactively resolve issues and plan for growth
- Implement backup, recovery, and business continuity procedures; regularly test restore processes.
- Apply OS and application patches and firmware updates in a controlled, documented manner.
- Manage storage resources and file services, including permissions and access control.
- Collaborate with networking staff to support switching, routing, wireless, and firewall policies.
- Implement and maintain security controls (endpoint protection, patch compliance, audit logging, access management).
- Document system configurations, procedures, and change history.
- Provide Tier 3 escalation support for Help Desk and technology support staff

Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Instructor-led training (training delivery method)?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Education (or Equivalent Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field; and 10 years' experience in a sysadmin role or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Certifications (Optional)
- Microsoft, VMware, CompTIA Server+/Network+/Security+, or similar industry certifications, * Must be able to present and lead instructor led training to a group of people at a time.
- Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license, appropriate insurance coverage and a privately owned reliable means of transportation to travel throughout territory to visit locations.
- Ability to bend, reach and stand, and lift up to twenty-five pounds on an occasional basis.
Critical Performance Factors
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies
- Ability to script or automate routine tasks (e.g., PowerShell, bash) is preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; ability to handle complex incidents with minimal supervision
- Effective written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical issues to non-technical
- Strong collaborative mindset that is willing to share knowledge and support level I, II staff grow in their roles
- Competence incorporating AI automation, SSO and API
