Job description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Qlik Administrator to install, configure, and maintain an enterprise Qlik Sense, QlikView, or Qlik Cloud environments. to ensure system stability, optimize platform performance, manage user access, and oversee data integration while collaborating with developers and business users., Qlik Administration & Platform Management
- Deploy, configure, and upgrade Qlik servers and components across multi-node environment
- Proactively monitor server logs, CPU/memory usage, and task execution to identify and resolve bottlenecks before they disrupt business.
- Prepare and maintain backup procedures and recovery plans for Qlik applications
- Configure and maintain environments across Development, QA, and Production.
- Perform regular system health checks and ensure platform stability.
Server & Environment Management
- Configure and maintain application/web servers.
- Manage Qlik services/MAPS and ensure high availability and load balancing.
- Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Apply patches, fix packs, and version upgrades.
User Access & Security
- Handle single sign-on (SSO) integrations, such as Active Directory, SAML, or cloud-based Identity Providers (IdPs).
- Configure roles, groups, and permissions for secure data access.
- Manage user licenses, set up permissions, and organize folder structures or streams.
- Implement data-level security (row-level security, package-level security).
- Maintain compliance with enterprise security standards.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor system performance (CPU, memory, queries, report execution times).
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Tune Qlik environment parameters (query service, batch report service).
- Optimize reports, queries, and data models.
Content Management
- Manage reports, dashboards, packages, frameworks, and data modules.
- Maintain content store databases and metadata models (QVW/QVD).
- Implement lifecycle management for Qlik content (migration, versioning).
- Support deployment of reports using deployment archives.
Data Integration & Connectivity
- Configure and manage database connections (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
- Ensure reliable data access and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Work with ETL teams to align data structures with reporting needs.
Automation & Scripting
- Automate administrative tasks using scripts (Shell, Python, or Cognos SDK).
- Develop scripts for deployments, monitoring, and system maintenance.
- Integrate with enterprise monitoring tools.
Governance & Best Practices
- Define and enforce Qlik governance standards and best practices.
- Maintain naming conventions and documentation.
- Conduct audits for usage, security, and compliance.
Support & Collaboration
- Provide technical support to report developers and business users.
- Troubleshoot report failures, scheduling issues, and system errors.
- Collaborate with data engineers, DBAs, and business analysts.
- Conduct user training and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Qlik administration and BI platforms.
- Strong experience with:
- Working with Qlik Sense sites and the Qlik Management Console, to provide data and application governance, library maintenance, as well as user and application security
- Qlik NPrinting (reporting) and Qlik Replicate/Enterprise Manager is highly favored in enterprise data environments.
- Experience using NSLookUp, Telnet, Ping, NetStat, Fiddler, and other browser tools to troubleshoot connectivity, interoperability, configuration, performance, and more
- Experience with:
- Web servers (IIS, QVWS)
- Qlik Cloud - Modern/Cloud-Native
- Knowledge of authentication mechanisms (LDAP, AD, SSO).
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
- Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix and Windows environments., * Expertise in managing the Qlik Sense Enterprise client-managed edition.
- AWS, Azure, or Scrum certifications are highly preferred for hybrid or Qlik Cloud environments.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL tools.
- Experience working in cloud or hybrid environments.
