Job description

The Technology Installation & Systems Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, and support of technology systems utilized by HQ2. This position supports implementation of telehealth infrastructure, technology upgrades, computer workstations, tablets, network equipment, printers, internet connectivity, audiovisual equipment, and related systems necessary for service delivery, staff operations, training activities, and community outreach.

This position is funded through the HQ2 Telehealth Prevention Program grant and is currently guaranteed only through June 30, 2026. Continued employment beyond this date is contingent upon additional funding and organizational need.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Technology Installation

  • Install and configure desktop computers, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, monitors, televisions, projectors, and related equipment.
  • Set up telehealth workstations and participant technology stations.
  • Install and configure wireless hotspots and internet-connected devices.
  • Configure user accounts, software applications, and security settings.
  • Test equipment functionality and resolve installation issues.

Network and Connectivity Support

  • Assist with setup and maintenance of internet connectivity and wireless networks.
  • Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues.
  • Configure routers, switches, wireless access points, and peripheral devices as assigned.
  • Assist with telehealth connectivity testing.

Telehealth Infrastructure Support

  • Assist with deployment of telehealth equipment and technology resources.
  • Support setup of hybrid training environments and telehealth service locations.
  • Configure telehealth software and communication platforms.
  • Ensure technology systems are operational and available for staff and participant use.

Technology Inventory Management

  • Inventory and label equipment purchased through grant funding.
  • Maintain equipment tracking records.
  • Document assigned equipment and physical locations.
  • Assist with annual inventory reviews and asset verification.

Technical Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates.
  • Provide basic technical support to staff.
  • Identify equipment replacement or repair needs.

Community Event Support

  • Attend and support the HQ2 Telehealth Prevention Event on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Assist with technology setup, equipment deployment, audiovisual support, and connectivity needs.
  • Demonstrate telehealth equipment and technology resources to participants.
  • Support staff and participant technology activities during the event.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain installation logs and equipment records.
  • Document technical issues and resolutions.
  • Maintain inventory tracking records.
  • Submit required timesheets, activity logs, and documentation.
  • Assist with grant reporting and equipment documentation requirements.

Expected Deliverables Prior to June 30, 2026

  • Install and configure designated telehealth equipment.
  • Ensure all telehealth workstations are operational.
  • Inventory and document grant-funded technology assets.
  • Assist with setup and support of hybrid meetings and trainings.
  • Support technology implementation activities related to the Telehealth Prevention Program.
  • Attend and support the June 27, 2026 Telehealth Prevention Event.
  • Complete all required installation logs, inventory records, and supporting documentation., Work may be performed in office settings, community facilities, telehealth service locations, outreach events, and training environments. Duties may require independent work, team collaboration, and occasional evening or weekend activities based upon program needs.

Grant Funding Notice

This position is funded through the HQ2 Telehealth Prevention Program grant and is currently funded through June 30, 2026. Employment beyond this period is dependent upon continued funding availability, grant extensions, or organizational need.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, organized, comfortable troubleshooting technology issues, capable of working independently, and able to quickly deploy and support technology systems in both office and community-based environments while maintaining accurate documentation required for grant compliance.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Technical documentation?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, or supporting technology systems.
  • Experience working with computers, tablets, printers, networks, and internet-connected devices.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred., * Computer hardware installation and configuration.
  • Software installation and updates.
  • Basic networking and internet troubleshooting.
  • Equipment setup and testing.
  • Technical problem-solving.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation.

Preferred Skills

  • Telehealth technology experience.
  • Experience with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and similar platforms.
  • Wireless networking experience.
  • Audio/visual equipment setup experience.
  • Experience supporting healthcare, educational, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Experience with inventory management and asset tracking.
