Job description

Primary responsibility is to install, repair, and maintain all of the GVTC products and services through field operations as defined in more detail below., · Ensures customer satisfaction by providing quality service, identifying customer needs and assisting

· Ability to multi-task.

· Uses excellent hearing and listening skills to receive detailed information.

· Responds to the needs of a 24/7/365 operation.

· Monthly SALES quota requirement met through upselling and upgrading customers with additional GVTC products and services.

· Full accountability in safety, productivity, quality, workmanship, customer service, and SALES through monthly individual reporting and on-site work observations., Monthly performance is measured in the following areas and is used for Annual Performance Review.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Typing?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, · Business Networking

· Basic Business Class Telephony Testing

· Rotary, Hunt Groups

· DSL Loop Qualification for High Speed DSL

· Fault Locating using 965DSP, Sidekick, or Trilithic 860 test meters.

· Basic installation and repair acceptance testing of light levels, RF levels, metallic Loop Test

· Basic Central Office Wiring

· Basic PON fundamentals

· Installation, Repair, and Maintenance of Inside Wire including twisted pair copper, Cat5, and Coax, To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must have valid Texas driver's license
  • Must have an acceptable driving record
  • Must pass a criminal background check, * High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; some college preferred. 2 to 5 years Telecommunications experience preferred.
  • Basic Understanding of Cabling and Wiring for Communications Services
  • Basic PC skills
  • Basic Consumer electronics experience

Language Ability: Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with and solve problems using solid judgment skills.

Technical skills: Basic PC and keyboarding skills required. Basic understanding of telephony, cable and internet technologies is preferred.

Professional Appearance: Employees will professionally represent GVTC by adhering to GVTC's Attire and Grooming Policy., While performing the duties of this job, you must be able to work in an outdoor environment with varying degree of weather conditions that may include rain, sleet, snow, or extreme heat or cold.

This job requires working in attics and crawlspaces under extreme temperature conditions.

This job could require working from a bucket truck and performing various work duties from such an environment.

You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, have close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust your focus with good hand-eye coordination
