Job description

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Migration Engineer to lead the design, planning, and execution of enterprise-scale cloud migration initiatives. This role combines deep technical expertise with architectural vision, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-optimized solutions as we modernize our application and infrastructure landscape on Microsoft Azure.

What you'll do:

  • Design end-to-end Azure architectures including compute, networking, identity, storage, security, and governance.
  • Develop cloud reference architectures, landing zones, and reusable patterns aligned with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
  • Define migration strategies (rehost, refactor, replatform, rearchitect) based on application assessments and business requirements.
  • Strong background in Windows and Linux System Administration.
  • Lead and execute migrations of VMs, applications, databases, and workloads from on-premises or other clouds into Azure.
  • Build and automate migration pipelines using tools such as Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, Azure Database Migration Service, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
  • Perform environment provisioning, configuration, and validation across dev/test/prod environments.
  • Develop IaC using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
  • Automate deployment, configuration, and operational tasks using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or PowerShell.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for cloud infrastructure and application deployments.
  • Implement Azure security best practices including RBAC, managed identities, network segmentation, encryption, and policy enforcement.
  • Configure Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Sentinel, and cost-management controls.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards.
  • Work closely with application owners, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to define migration roadmaps.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineering teams.
  • Document architectures, runbooks, and operational procedures.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Virtual Private Clouds?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelors degree and 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering or architecture, with at least 3 years focused on Microsoft Azure.

  • Proven experience leading large-scale cloud migrations.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services: VMs, VNets, NSGs, Storage, AKS, App Services, Azure AD, Key Vault, Load Balancers, Firewalls, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with IaC (Terraform/Bicep/ARM).
  • Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Experience with DevOps tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins).
  • Solid understanding of networking, identity, and security principles.
  • CompTIA Security + CE or other qualifying 8140 certification.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required.

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
