Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION: * Provide student-centered, differentiated lessons, units, and projects that align with the MA CTE ISSN Frameworks * Employ various instructional techniques to engage all learners * Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students * Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established district curriculum goals, establish and communicate clear objectives to students for lessons, units, labs, and projects * Maintain timely record keeping via PowerSchool (student information and grading system) and electronic student competency tracking * Maintain up-to-date files, including student records * Maintain classroom management through an understanding and adherence to accepted school policies * Provide assistance to students serving make-up or detention * Participate in district professional development activities and school improvement initiatives * Participate collaboratively in the

development of curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment * Provide after school assistance to students per contract and as needed * Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement * Foster competition and achievement by supporting SkillsUSA activities * Other duties as assigned by the Vocational Director QUALIFICATIONS: * Associate's Degree related to the subject matter and skills to be taught * Chapter 74 ISSN License preferred (or the ability/qualifications needed for licensure) * Four years of full-time employment experience directly related to ISSN * Ability to maintain student discipline, differentiate instruction, and work with diverse populations * Possess teaching experience or demonstrable teaching ability * Demonstration of initiative and willingness to participate in further study as necessary * Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, and administrators * Willingness to foster strong relationships with students and teachers * Punctuality, flexibility, strong self-management, and self-initiative skills * Understanding of vocational practices, procedures, expectations, and the instructional practices that will facilitate students' proficiency in their technical area REPORTS TO: Vocational Director
