The Division of Academic Affairs at Clinton College invites applications for the position of Department Chair of Computer Information Systems. The Chair ensures academic excellence, curriculum relevance, faculty development, and student success in technology-focused disciplines. This role combines teaching, advising, and service with leadership duties such as faculty supervision, curriculum development, and program growth. The Chair supports the College's mission by preparing students for careers in information systems, cybersecurity, data science, and related fields., Academic Leadership & Program Oversight
- Provide leadership for development and improvement of CIS programs
- Ensure curriculum aligns with industry standards and workforce needs
- Oversee course scheduling and delivery formats
- Lead program assessment and student learning outcomes evaluation
- Promote integration of emerging technologies
Faculty Leadership & Development
- Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate faculty
- Foster innovation and collaboration
- Support professional development and certifications
- Ensure faculty meet accreditation standards
Student Success & Outcomes
- Promote retention, progression, and graduation
- Support advising and mentoring
- Monitor performance and implement interventions
- Prepare students for certifications and careers
Program Development & Industry Alignment
- Develop new programs aligned with workforce trends
- Build partnerships with employers and industry leaders
- Support internships and experiential learning
- Stay current with technology trends
Administrative & Operational Management
- Manage departmental budget and resources
- Oversee labs and technology infrastructure
- Prepare reports for leadership
- Ensure efficient operations
Accreditation & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards
- Lead program reviews and reporting
- Maintain documentation for assessment
Institutional Engagement
- Participate in governance and committees
- Support recruitment and outreach
- Represent the department
Work Environment & Expectations

Requirements
Do you have experience in Teaching?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Strategic leadership
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of technology trends

- Commitment to student success, * Master's degree in CIS, Computer Science, or related field
- 3-5 years teaching experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Knowledge of current technology trends, * Doctorate degree
- Experience with program development and accreditation
- Industry certifications (CompTIA, Cisco, AWS, Microsoft)
- Proven student success outcomes
- Experience in mission-driven institutions
