Job description
The automation maintenance technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated warehouse equipment including Dematic Multi-Shuttle systems, conveyors, lifts, sensors, motors, controls, and associated material handling equipment. This position plays a critical role in maximizing system uptime, reducing faults, and supporting warehouse operations in a fast-paced food distribution environment., 1. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and Dematic Multi-Shuttle automation systems.

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls-related failures.

Respond quickly to system faults and production downtime events

Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability.

Maintain documentation of repairs, inspections, and corrective actions. Electrical and Controls Troubleshooting: 1.Diagnose faults using PLC interfaces, HMI's and diagnostic software. 2.Troubleshoot sensors, photo eyes, encoders, motors, VFDs, safety circuits, and communication networks 3.Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. 4.Assist with equipment commissioning, testing, and upgrades. Mechanical Maintenance: 1.Repair and replace bearings, chains, belts, rollers, gearboxes, and motors. 2.Perform alignment and adjustment of automated storage and retrieval equipment.

Inspect lifts, shuttles, conveyors, and transfer equipment for wear or damage. 4.Perform lubrication and preventive maintenance activities. Reliability Improvement: 1.Investigate recurring equipment faults and develop long-term corrective actions.

Analyze downtime trends and recommend system improvements 3.Work with Vendors, contractors, and OEM technicians during service visits 4.Participae in root cause analysis of major equipment failures Safety and Compliance: 1.Follow all lockout/Tagout procedures. 2.Maintain compliance with food safety and warehouse safety requirements. 3.Ensure equipment guarding and safety devices remain functional. 4.Support facility safety initiatives and audits.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Technical troubleshooting support?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * No high school diploma, Mechanical troubleshooting Electrical troubleshooting Conveyor maintenance Pneumatics Industrial controls Motor and gearbox replacement Preventive maintenance programs Root cause analysis
Qualifications: Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
Work Experience:
- 3 - 5 Years Maintenance or similar responsibilities in automation (i.e. Dematics), * Technical background in electrical and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of PLCs and automation systems.
- Ability to use electrical test equipment for diagnostics.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of root cause analysis techniques.
- Experience troubleshooting robotics/automation.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Experience in diagnosing and resolving technical problems.
- Proficiency with specialized software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and work independently, as required.
Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.
