Job description

The QA Technician is responsible for ensuring that all paint and coating products meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves testing raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products, as well as supporting compliance with safety, regulatory, and customer requirements., * Perform quality control tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished paint products

  • Conduct laboratory tests such as viscosity, density, gloss, colour matching, drying time, adhesion, and durability
  • Approve or reject batches based on test results and specifications
  • Monitor production processes to ensure consistency and quality standards are maintained
  • Accurately record test data and maintain quality documentation
  • Investigate and report non-conformances, defects, or deviations
  • Assist in handling complaints, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and external standards (e.g., ISO)
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory testing equipment
  • Work closely with production, R&D, and warehouse teams to resolve quality issues

Requirements

Do you have experience in Root cause analysis?, * Background in chemistry, materials science, or a related field

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Understanding of quality control and assurance principles
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Good written and verbal communication skillsBasic IT skills (data entry, spreadsheets, lab systems)

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in paint, coatings, or chemical manufacturing
  • Familiarity with testing instruments (e.g., viscometer, spectrophotometer, gloss meter)
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001
  • Understanding of UK health and safety regulations (e.g., COSHH)
  • Experience in Microsoft D365
