Immigration and Citizenship Service (ICS) manages the UKs immigration and identity systems. It oversees visa applications for visitors, workers, students, and those seeking to settle in the UK, as well as citizenship processes and resettlement services. ICS also issues British passports and maintains vital civil records, including births, marriages, and deaths. Through secure and efficient services, it protects the UKs borders, supports lawful migration, provides safe and legal routes for refugees, and ensures trusted identity and travel documentation for citizens and applicants., Threat Check Unit sits within Shared Operations, which is part of Customer Operations Support Services (COSS). The responsibility of the unit is to carry out criminality checks and updates for customers across all immigration routes., * Interrogating secure systems including Police National Computer and Home Office Systems.
- Assessing criminality and adverse immigration history.
- Routing cases accordingly and providing all relevant information to decision makers.
- Escalating complex cases.
- Working productively and delivering against prescribed targets to maintain Service Level Agreements.
- Keeping up to date with all changes to Information Technology systems and databases.
- Working as part of a team, demonstrating awareness of Home Office policy towards Equal Opportunities, Diversity and Health and Safety.
- Sharing knowledge and best practises with colleagues and actively participating in team meetings.
Working Pattern
This role is available on a full-time basis with the option of compressed hours working. This role is also suitable for part-time working hours, with a minimum requirement to work 3 days / 20 hours per week due to business requirements., We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:

Requirements
Do you have experience in Presentation skills?, The Systems and the Data that the unit handles are sensitive and confidential. The ability to work efficiently, while maintaining quality and confidentiality in a high volume workstream are therefore extremely important considerations., * Competent and confident using Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office products.
- Competent working effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Additional Security Checks
As well as successfully obtaining UK Security Vetting clearance, candidates will be subject to a range of additional checks. The range of checks carried out will depend on whether you are a current Home Office employee, existing civil servant or an external new entrant as well as the role requirements. The level of Criminal Record Check required for this role is Security Checks (SC). Further details are included in the Notes to Candidates., You should currently hold, or be willing to obtain, Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level-3 vetting (including financial checks).
