Job description
- Assist the Intermediate Network Engineer and on-site government personnel in responding to and managing any tickets, alerts, or communications that come into the Network Operations Center.
- Install, maintain, and evaluate network systems and communications systems.
- Perform technical refresh of routers, switches, and firewall devices at customer sites.
- Deploy device configurations and verify operability.
- Follow up with other government and contractor personnel on outstanding ticket updates.
- Observe the actions of other contractor personnel to capture and assist with ticket updates or notes for after action reviews.
- Provide support to other contractor personnel towards the accomplishment of their responsibilities and duties.
- Contribute to reporting and data analysis of the work done under the CLIN by the NOC.
Requirements
- Active Top-Secret security clearance
- 1-3 years of relevant IT experience with specialization in networking technologies, specifically with Cisco switches and routers and resolving LAN/WAN issues.
- Basic knowledge of IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, Stateful firewalls and encryption technologies.
- Working knowledge of network management tools, such as Riverbed, Wireshark, Micro Focus Network Automation, etc.
- Working knowledge of web applications, web servers, application load balancers and storage systems. Must have good knowledge of general security tools and methodologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS and access control lists.
- Capable of making travel arrangements (Air, Hotel, Rental Car, etc.)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates of Science degree (preferred) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related area.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Enterprise Core and Infrastructure certification., While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, feel, touch; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds; and up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
