Job description
- Design, build, and operate a data center-scale logical model to evaluate future SSD product scenarios
- Integrate workload data, telemetry, and benchmarks into performance, power, and cost projections
- Model hyperscaler tradeoffs across compute, memory, storage, and interconnects to identify Micron differentiation
- Analyze AI cloud architectures and quantify the impact of Micron component choices
- Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to senior leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of experience in hyperscale data centers or large cloud environments
- Hands-on software development experience in Python, C/C++, or similar languages
- Strong understanding of data center system architecture including compute, memory, storage, power, and interconnects
- Experience translating complex technical analysis into executive-level recommendations, * Master's degree or PhD in a relevant technical field
- Experience building system- or data center-scale performance, power, or cost models using real data
- Background in SSD or DRAM product engineering or performance analysis
- Familiarity with simulators or system tools such as gem5, Simics, SST, QEMU, or PCIe subsystems
- History of building internal tools adopted across teams or contributing publications or patents
Benefits & conditions
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$170,000.00 - $289,000.00 a year
Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.
