Job description

  • The Configuration Analyst is responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive configuration management (CM) and Data Management (DM) process on programs in accordance with established CM practices that are based on EIA/649 and customer contract requirements.
  • Job emphasis is placed on planning and coordination of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met.
  • Reviews contracts to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system.
  • Coordinates modification records for management control.
  • Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor.
  • Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality control, operations, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.
  • The Northrop Grumman CM tool, Siemens TeamCenter will be used as the system of record for controlling document status and bills of material.

Our engineering work includes full life-cycle programs including design, development, system integration, hands-on test, training, and production. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in electrical engineering, component engineering and will be comfortable interpreting engineering drawings. The successful candidate will demonstrate a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. The successful candidate will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the sector business areas as required to accomplish team goals.

The Hardware Engineering Department is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Configuration Analyst in Cincinnati, OH who is self-motivated, energetic, and interested in joining our highly skilled Hardware Team to develop unique solutions critical to global security. This role will support on-going programs and rapidly growing business., * 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in engineering; 3 years with a Masters; 0 years with PhD

  • Experience in configuration management
  • Experience with Teamcenter
  • US Citizenship is required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance (NG will sponsor), * 9 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in engineering; 7 years with a Masters; 4 years with PhD

Preferred Qualifications for both:

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience with Teamcenter MPLM
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Configuration Management certification from NDIA, CMPIC, or CMII organization preferred.
  • Experience and understanding of ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5M -1994 or later.
  • Expert level skill set for administering PDM/PLM, data management applications (i.e. Siemens Teamcenter)
  • Knowledge in Electrical component engineering is a plus
  • Self-starter and willing to learn new tools

Primary Level Salary Range: $85,600.00 - $128,400.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $106,800.00 - $160,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
