Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Data Center Technician in Red Oak, TX. The Data Center Technician supports the physical and virtual infrastructure of mission-critical facilities, ensuring data center best practices and industry standards are maintained. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of hardware deployments, from initial installation and cabling to ongoing maintenance and decommissioning. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with hardware MACs (Moves/Adds/Changes), structured cabling, and smart-hands support in a fast-paced environment., * Directly support and complete all scheduled data center MACs (Moves, Adds, and Changes) including device labeling and power/network connectivity.
- Perform hardware installation, certification, troubleshooting, and break-fix tasks according to specified work orders.
- Provide smart-hands assistance for customers, maintaining specified service level agreement (SLA) response times.
- Maintain accurate documentation and record-keeping for asset management, auditing, and daily work logs.
- Ensure a safe and secure operating environment by adhering to site security protocols, badging requirements, and data protection procedures.
- Coordinate equipment and material receiving, shipping, and RMA processing as required.
- Conduct physical data center inspections for general health, power, cooling, and potential hazards.
- Provide general cleaning on raised floors, cabinet surfaces, and work benches to maintain facility standards.
- Support standard and emergency operating procedures to ensure continuous data center service availability.
- Serve as a point of contact for vendor and security escorts within the facility.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Word embeddings?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High School diploma or GED equivalency required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a data center, operations, or related technical field.
- Strong working knowledge of server and network hardware components.
- Proficiency in copper and fiber infrastructure installation and testing.
- Familiarity with data center productivity and support tools such as Windows, Linux, SSH, RDP, and Putty.
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
- Comfortable supporting multiple site locations across Red Oak and Irving, TX.
- Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills in a mission-critical setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder, and in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to see and distinguish different colors for cable identification.
- Ability to read small print and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for prolonged periods of time.
