Job description

As a SOC Analyst (Level 1), you'll be at the frontline of cyber defence, supporting the monitoring and protection of systems under the guidance of experienced analysts.

You will:

  • Monitor security s and events using enterprise tools (SIEM platforms)
  • Support the triage and escalation of potential security incidents
  • Learn how real-world cyber-attacks are identified and handled
  • Follow structured runbooks and incident response procedures
  • Contribute to incident notes and basic reports
  • Work closely with senior analysts to develop your expertise, * Networking basics (IP, ports, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)
  • Operating systems (Windows / Linux fundamentals)
  • Awareness of:
  • Endpoint security
  • Network security
  • Identity and access management concepts

Education & Interest

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
  • Strong interest in cyber security, with a curiosity about how threats emerge and how organisations defend against them

Essential Knowledge (Academic or Self-Learned)

  • Understanding of Security Operations Centres (SOC) and their purpose
  • Awareness of s, incidents, and case management workflows Basic knowledge of the incident lifecycle (detection triage
  • escalation)
  • Familiarity with common cyber threats:
  • Malware
  • Phishing
  • Brute-force attacks
  • Unauthorized access, * Certifications or training in cyber security (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Cyber Essentials, etc.)
  • Strong analytical thinking and curiosity about how attacks happen
  • Clear written communication skills
