Job description
A law firm seeks a mid-to-senior-level Associate in Durham, NC, to join the Patent Prosecution and Litigation Practice Group on the Electrical Engineering and Software Team., * Draft and prosecute patent applications.
- Engage in patent litigation activities.
- Collaborate with team members on complex legal matters.
- Provide legal advice on intellectual property issues.
Requirements
- 4 to 7 years of IP experience in drafting and patent prosecution.
- Background in computer science, electrical engineering, or similar field.
- Experience with AI/machine learning, software design, semiconductors, and medical devices is a plus.
- Licensed to practice law or ability to become licensed in the state of employment.
- Member of the USPTO.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
Certifications
- Bar admission in the state of employment.
- USPTO registration., * Excellent academic credentials.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
