Job description

This role is responsible for designing and delivering infrastructure tools and services that enable business strategies in accordance with architectural governance, standards, and policies. Operating within a platform engineering team, this role focuses on building and evolving a self-service platform that enables internal technology teams to deploy and operate services securely, consistently, and efficiently in a regulated financial environment. This individual continuously seeks opportunities to improve the reliability, scalability, security, and developer experience of the platform., * Assist in translating business and platform requirements into technical definitions, reference architectures, and reusable platform patterns.

  • Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to provision services in a scalable, consistent, and compliant manner.
  • Contribute to the development of a self-service platform, creating standardized "golden paths" and templates.
  • Develop and maintain automation and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, including validation, security scanning, and controlled infrastructure deployments.
  • Embed security-by-design principles into platform services, ensuring secure defaults through implementation of IAM best practices and secure network architectures.
  • Develop software and automation solutions to eliminate manual processes and improve platform usability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain Python-based automation and tooling to support platform capabilities and reduce manual operational effort.
  • Contribute to building event-driven and serverless platform components to improve scalability and responsiveness.
  • Act as a subject matter contributor for Terraform and platform engineering practices.
  • Contribute to observability and operational excellence, including monitoring, alerting, and continuous improvement of platform reliability.

Requirements

Education: A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cloud Automation Engineer is required, with significant experience writing Hashicorp Terraform configurations and modules.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Terraform Enterprise (TFE) for resource provisioning.
  • Proficiency in DevOps, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code models.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts, including subnets, routing, load balancing, and firewalls.
  • Experience in enterprise-scale environments building highly available IaaS and PaaS solutions.
  • Knowledge of landing zones, cloud-native security, and monitoring tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and container technologies.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Bash or Python.
  • Experience with programming and infrastructure automation tools including Ansible or Java.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Experience with various public cloud service providers.
  • Experience in Linux/UNIX system administration.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Docker.
