Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Data Center Technicians (ISP L1s) in Montgomery, AL. The Data Center Technician (ISP L1) is responsible for the physical installation and management of structured cabling systems within a mission-critical environment. This role focuses on the efficient routing and handling of fiber and copper cables to support data center infrastructure, making it an ideal position for candidates with practical experience in cable pulling and structured cabling techniques., * Perform large-scale cable pulls for fiber optic and copper cabling throughout the data center facility.
- Install and route structured cabling through designated pathways, including ladder racks, fiber trays, and conduits.
- Maintain proper cable handling techniques to ensure the integrity of sensitive high-speed data lines.
- Assist in the installation of physical infrastructure components such as server racks, cabinets, and cable management systems.
- Apply accurate labels to cables and hardware according to project documentation and industry standards.
- Support the deployment of inside plant (ISP) infrastructure under the direction of project leads.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all cabling debris is removed and safety protocols are met.
- Utilize basic hand tools and equipment for the installation of support structures and cabling media.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Telecommunication?, * Direct experience with cable pulling in a commercial, telecommunications, or data center environment.
- Proven knowledge of cable handling best practices for both fiber and copper media.
- Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and routing diagrams.
- Familiarity with structured cabling installation tools and hardware.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform repetitive physical tasks with precision.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical construction environment.
- Reliable attendance and the ability to meet project deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods across large-scale jobsites.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly throughout a shift.
- Must be comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights.
- Ability to work in tight or confined spaces common in data center environments.
- Manual dexterity to handle small components and use hand tools for extended periods.
- Must be able to distinguish between different colors for cable identification and termination.
