Job description

Teradyne's Compute Test Division is seeking a Senior Director of Platform Development to lead end-to-end execution of next-generation test platforms and test cells. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, this leader will drive scalable, high-performance test solutions aligned with product roadmaps while partnering across CTD functional discipline teams, Common Engineering, Systems Engineering, product and application teams, program management, operations, and shared infrastructure groups.

In this highly matrixed leadership role, you will focus on execution excellence, cross-functional alignment, integration readiness, and transparent communication to ensure successful delivery from concept through release.

What You'll Do

  • Lead execution of test platform and test cell development programs across CTD, driving delivery from concept through release, including architecture realization, integration, and qualification.
  • Operate in a matrix model with limited dedicated staff, coordinating development across functional discipline teams, Common Engineering, program management, product and application teams, and operations.
  • Influence without authority to ensure alignment, resource commitment, accountability, and timely execution across distributed teams.
  • Establish milestone-based development plans, risk tracking mechanisms, root cause and corrective action processes, and continuous improvement practices to support on-time delivery.
  • Ensure cross-domain integration across hardware, software, FPGA, mechanical, and test cell infrastructure while owning readiness for validation, manufacturing transfer, and release.
  • Partner with Systems Engineering on customer engagement, high-level requirements definition, and roadmaps, translating requirements into executable development plans.
  • Build and develop a small, high-impact team while effectively leveraging broad matrixed resources across the organization.
  • Provide executive-level program updates, communicate risks and tradeoffs clearly, and interface regularly with CTD staff leaders.
  • Negotiate and execute development activities associated with third-party ecosystem partners, including probes and handlers.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Team development?, * Bachelors in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.

  • 15+ years of engineering leadership experience, including a proven track record delivering large-scale platform, system, or multidisciplinary product development programs.
  • Experience leading in matrixed environments with the ability to influence without authority, align resources, and drive accountability across teams.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor test systems preferred, with demonstrated capability in cross-domain integration and systems-level thinking.
  • Strong execution discipline, clear executive communication, and the ability to balance technical depth with program delivery focus.
  • Experience building and developing high-impact teams while collaborating effectively across organizational boundaries.
  • Known for driving programs to completion, reducing integration risk, improving execution transparency, and increasing platform reuse and scalability.
