Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Analytics Engineer to join a high-profile NHS programme, supporting the design and delivery of modern, scalable data and analytics pipelines. This role will play a key part in improving how data is processed and utilised to drive clinical insights, operational performance, and decision-making across healthcare services., * Design and buildscalable, end-to-end data pipelines on AWS, including:

  • Data ingestion, transformation, validation, and output generation

  • Develop and maintain a dedicated reporting database, reducing reliance on ad-hoc querying against operational systems

  • Leverage AWS services such as Athena,S3, Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions to deliver:

  • Automated scheduling

  • Orchestration and monitoring

  • Implement data quality checks and maintain a clear audit trail across all processing steps

  • Develop analytical reports and dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to communicate insights to stakeholders

  • Build and maintain repeatable analytical solutions to support programme monitoring and reporting needs

  • Produce well-documented, maintainable code and processes

Requirements

  • SQL and Python
  • AWS (data/analytics services)
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
  • Proven track record building data pipelines, reporting layers, and analytics solutions
  • Strong focus on data quality, validation, and governance

Ways of Working

  • Experience in Agile delivery environments

  • Familiarity with:

  • Paired programming

  • Test-driven development (TDD / Playwright)

  • Git / GitHub

  • CI/CD and DevOps practices

  • Strong commitment to clean code, documentation, and best practice engineering
