Job description
The Analytics Product Engineering team at The Fidelis Partnership (TFP) builds and manages a bespoke analytical platform that powers our partnership-driven business model. We combine actuarial expertise with advanced technology to deliver innovative, scalable solutions.
The Test Automation Lead partners with squads across The Fidelis Partnership's Analytics product engineering team, employing test automation approaches and tools to ensure that the quality of our key analytics products are maintained and improved.
You will work to ensure a high degree of accuracy and quality during testing activities throughout product development lifecycles, including automating functional testing, smoke tests, regressions, supporting bug hunts and investigations. You will take ownership of the automated testing agenda, working with product owners, delivery leads and software/data engineering SMEs to define and execute the testing roadmap.
Your work will involve coordinating all aspects of automated testing, from UI/UX to backend system performance. You will be operating in a predominantly Microsoft tech stack environment with a mix of on-prem and cloud (Azure) hosting., * Define and execute a test automation strategy and maturation roadmap in alignment with product roadmaps.

Identify the tooling required to support the strategy and roadmap.

Run proofs of concept; establish evaluation criteria and demonstrate that selected tools are fit for purpose and aligned to best practice.

Maintain a continual focus on long-term technology effectiveness, simplicity of solutions, and appropriate controls.

Maintain and enhance existing test frameworks, tooling and QA practices across multiple product engineering squads.

Develop reusable test scripts, procedures and documentation for wider team adoption.

Guide product engineering squads in the design, creation, and execution of comprehensive automated test plans for features and products in development.

Promote a Quality First mindset and embed this within team culture.

Act as the team's quality expert, providing direction on appropriate QA approaches and contributing to the ongoing evolution of the QA process.

Embed automated testing practices and tooling across DevOps, CI/CD and change management processes.

Help foster a supportive, accountable and high-performing engineering environment that reflects company culture and drives technical excellence.

Partner with product leaders, delivery leads, engineers and central IT to understand the technology landscape and prioritise testing activity for maximum impact.

Work closely with developers and delivery leads to define and align testing strategies for new features and product changes.

Develop a thorough understanding of the industry, products and services to support effective quality assurance.

Keep stakeholders informed on progress, activity and work status, acting as a key point of contact for QA-related matters.

Gather quality metrics and provide clear reporting on automation execution results.

Monitor the efficiency and coverage of test automation and help optimise delivery.

Provide regular progress updates and define and report on KPIs, objectives and key results.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Time management?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Academic Qualifications and CPD
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a relevant field.
- ISTQB certification preferred, with a commitment to continuing professional development.
Professional Experience
- At least 7 years' experience in QA automation within a large enterprise or regulated environment is required.
- Strong track record of designing and maintaining automated tests, frameworks and QA processes.
- Experience improving processes and working effectively across teams.
Technical Skills and Tooling
- Experience with tools such as SpecFlow, Postman, Scalar/Swagger and Leapwork.
- Working knowledge of SQL and foundational C# .NET skills, for diagnostic investigations and tool development.
- Experience with supporting tools such as Jira, TestRail and Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of performance testing concepts and tools such as JMeter.
- Good UX and UI awareness, with the ability to design effective test cases.
