Job description
We are working with a client in the DFW area that is looking for a Cisco Network Engineer / Architect to lead the design, implementation, security, and optimization of its enterprise and hybrid cloud network environments. This role serves as the primary network subject matter expert, responsible for architecture, standards, resiliency, and long-term network strategy. This position is on site 5 days a week., * Design, implement, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and firewall environments
- Lead network architecture, standards, security, and performance optimization initiatives
- Manage routing, switching, firewall, and cloud connectivity solutions
- Serve as the escalation point for complex network issues and drive root cause analysis
- Develop and maintain network documentation, standards, and operational procedures
- Partner with vendors and service providers on implementations, upgrades, and support
- Support cloud and hybrid networking environments
- Contribute to disaster recovery, business continuity, and network resiliency efforts
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership
- Participate in on-call support as needed
Requirements
Do you have experience in Vendor relationship building?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of progressive network engineering experience
- Extensive experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale network environments
- Strong expertise in Cisco routing, switching, and network security technologies
- Advanced knowledge of OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VPNs, ACLs, NAT/PAT, DNS, DHCP, and authentication services
- Experience with cloud networking in Azure, AWS, or similar platforms
- Experience with network monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting tools
- CCNP or equivalent preferred; advanced certifications are a plus
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and technical leadership skills
