Systems Engineer

Analyze IT requirements to plan system capabilities for projects including but not limited to, discovery, design, planning, implementing, and supporting medium to large project work and installation of new systems or modifications of existing systems for client-based projects.

• Perform discovery, design, planning, and implementation of Microsoft-based Windows solutions, including modifications to existing systems.
• Install and configure network server operating systems and applications, including Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange Server 2010 and 2013, Lync, SharePoint and SQL Server.
• Familiarity with VMware ESX/ESXi 5.x expertise and other virtualization technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop
• Integrate new network servers into network infrastructure at client site.
• Install, configure, and support Office 365 solutions, including Exchange Online and Lync Online and integrating into on premise solutions.
• Troubleshoot network server hardware, NOS and application problems.
• Monitor functionality of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications Technical mentor to Systems Engineers and Technicians.
• NC - SC travel is required

• Bachelor's degree or five to seven years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5 - 7 years experience as a Senior Systems Engineer
• Experience deploying core networking products
• Server administrative experience
• Experience in server configuration
• Experience on large-scale deployment team
• Experience in migrations from competitive products
• Dispatch break/fix experience
• On-site support experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Major O/S certification or networking platform certification required (e.g. current MCSA, MCSE, MCSM, MOS, MCTS, MCITP)
• Other platform a plus (e.g. Cisco, Citrix, VMWare)

Experienced in server configurations.

• Excellent troubleshooting skills are necessary for resolving network and application problems.
• Excellent verbal communication skills are necessary for interfacing with customers and company management.
