Job description
As a Principal Software Engineer on the Quantum Programming team, you will be a key architect and contributor to the organization's project. You'll lead the development of high-performance compilers written in Lisp, contributing both to core infrastructure and new feature sets. This role combines deep technical development with strategic leadership and mentorship., * Collaborate on the evolution of an optimizing compiler for a domain-specific quantum programming language.
- Lead and guide best practices for coding, reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
- Contribute to long-term technical direction, ensuring scalability and performance of the compiler stack.
- Mentor junior team members, participate in design discussions, and provide technical leadership in architecture and development decisions.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of operating system fundamentals, runtime environments, and compiler construction.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing a non-trivial programming language or compiler.
- Advanced software development skills with proficiency in Git-based workflows and full development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in multiple programming paradigms-especially functional and logic programming.
- Expert-level knowledge in Lisp and working familiarity with Python.
- Solid background in scientific and numerical computing.
- Ability to review complex codebases and provide insightful technical mentorship., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
- Advanced degrees or specialized training in programming languages, or compiler design are highly valued., * U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DOD Secret Clearance
