Job description

You act as the subject matter expert for our government client and exhibit the exceptional technical and customer service skills to resolve issues as quickly and efficiently as possible. This is a full time on-site position at our client's site in Arlington, Virginia.

HOW A SERVICENOW/SHAREPOINT SME WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • ServiceNow Workflow Migration: Map, analyze, and translate legacy business workflows into ServiceNow, aligning them with ServiceNow's capabilities and best practices.

  • Legacy Application Integration: Work closely with business units to port functionality from a legacy application into ServiceNow, ensuring critical business logic and requirements are retained in the new system.

  • ServiceNow Improvements : Identify limitations or gaps in the current ServiceNow implementation and propose workflow-driven improvements or customizations to enhance efficiency and user experience.

  • SharePoint Migration : Support the migration of the SharePoint environment from 2013 to 2019, using an in-depth understanding of feature differences and architecture to ensure a smooth transition.

  • Use Case Refactoring: Analyze and refactor SharePoint 2013 use cases (sites, libraries, workflows, forms) to leverage new capabilities of SharePoint 2019, such as the modern user interface, improved search functionality, and updated web parts.

  • Solution Development: Provide business-focused solutions by utilizing new SharePoint 2019 features to improve collaboration and productivity (e.g., modern lists and libraries, better integration with Office tools).

  • Database Management: Manage backend databases supporting both ServiceNow and SharePoint environments; maintain data integrity and optimize database performance.

  • Data Migration & Queries: Create and optimize SQL/T-SQL queries for reporting and data migration, ensure data quality during transitions, and troubleshoot data-related issues in both ServiceNow and SharePoint contexts.

Experience:

6 + years of related experience, + Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (required).

  • Experience: At least 6 years of relevant experience in enterprise application support or development (migrating or supporting platforms like ServiceNow and SharePoint).

  • SharePoint Expertise: Proficiency with SharePoint Server 2013 and 2019 (on-premises), including hands-on experience migrating from 2013 to 2019 and a deep understanding of the feature differences between versions.

  • ServiceNow Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture and workflow design, including configuring forms, building custom workflows (Flow Designer), and understanding key ServiceNow modules.

  • SQL Skills: Mid-level expertise in SQL and T-SQL for writing queries, creating stored procedures, and handling data migration tasks within enterprise databases.

  • Scripting: Proficiency in JavaScript for ServiceNow scripting (client scripts, business rules) and potential SharePoint customizations. Familiarity with other scripting or automation tools is a plus.

  • On-Premises Environment: Experience supporting and deploying applications in on-premises server environments, with understanding of maintenance, patching, and upgrade processes for locally hosted systems.

  • Certifications: CompTIA Security+ required. ServiceNow and SharePoint certifications are a plus - for example, ServiceNow System Administrator/Developer certification or Microsoft SharePoint Administrator certification.

  • Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility

Benefits & conditions

The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
