Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Network Architect to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard., * Serve as principal authority for enterprise network architecture across classified and unclassified environments; define end-to-end architectures for WAN, ICAN, data centers, virtual hosting, VoIP, Army 365, and hybrid cloud integrations.

  • Develop authoritative architectural artifacts: high-level/low-level designs, DoDAF views, technical roadmaps, bills of materials, cost models, and transition/runbook deliverables.
  • Ensure routing, switching, firewall, VPN, DNS, proxy, identity, and hosting services comply with DoD/Army/ARNG standards, STIG/IAVM mandates, RMF controls, CCRI readiness, and COOP/DR requirements.
  • Architect secure cloud integrations (cARMY-Azure and other providers) for IaaS/PaaS/SaaS across DEV/TEST/Stage/Prod/COOP environments, ensuring interoperability and data protection.
  • Advise RCC-ARNG, NETCOM, ARCYBER, SOC, CIRT, and Enterprise Architecture stakeholders on technical risk, scalability constraints, cybersecurity posture, and sustainment implications.
  • Review and approve engineering changes, transition strategies, and deployment plans to preserve architectural integrity and lifecycle sustainability.
  • Lead architectural governance, standards enforcement, and cross-domain integration efforts to enable enterprise modernization and expansion.

Requirements

Do you have a valid CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner certification?, Do you have experience in VoIP?, Do you have a Master's degree in cybersecurity?, * Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.

  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Candidate must meet ONE of the following:
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; OR
  • Relevant DoD/military training (example: Research & Development Specialist (Advanced) Playlist); OR
  • Relevant professional certification or equivalent experience (examples: SecurityX/CASP+; RCCE Level 1; CEH; GCLD).
  • Required experience and skills:
  • Network architecture, engineering, or systems integration experience with at least 7 years in senior enterprise network architecture roles.
  • Deep expertise in routing/switching, WAN design, SD-WAN, ICAN integrations, datacenter/virtualization architectures, VoIP topologies, DNS/proxy, and identity integration.
  • Proven experience architecting secure cloud on-ramps and hybrid hosting (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) and designing enterprise resiliency/COOP solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of DISA STIGs, IAVM processes, RMF/ATO interactions, CCRI readiness criteria, and DoD/Army networking standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce DoDAF artifacts, technical roadmaps, ROMs/COAs, and decision-grade briefings for senior leadership.
  • Desired:
  • Prior DoD/ARNG/NETCOM experience supporting enterprise network modernization.
  • Experience with automation/orchestration, network provisioning APIs, Exadata/engineered systems integration, and cost/licensing optimization.
  • Preferred certifications: SecurityX/CASP+, RCCE Level 1, CEH, or GCLD.

  • Dental insurance, Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
