Job description
Our North American Materials & Semiconductor group is searching for an experienced Design & Test Engineer to develop and incorporate innovative technology into new designs at our R&D Technology Center in Reno, Nevada is just minutes from the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. - Conduct research, processes and analyzes experimental data
- Manage schedules and inventory of experimental supplies such as gas, chemicals, and equipment.
- Conceive tests to acquire functional data on new designs.
- Convert conceived tests into hardware. Includes: sketching tooling, instrumentation, and data acquisition methods.
- Analyzes collected data and draws conclusion based on this data concerning suitability of the products performance and recommends design modifications to enhance performance if warranted.
- Designs and drafts prototype parts and tooling for desired manufacturing methods using best practices.
- Flexibility to pivot to new projects as requested, including projects in gas and or liquid labs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, physics, and/or material science or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience with design of fluid distribution equipment
- Experience in analytical mathematics
- Working knowledge of systems design and engineering, low pressure pneumatic systems, including regulators, pumps, solenoid valves, pressure transducers and other related components
- Requires ability to read and create flow schematics for fluid systems and ability to read electrical diagrams.
- Fundamental knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and dynamics, mechanical design, and materials is required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suites such as Excel and PowerPoint
- 3D CAD experience
- Python experience preferred

Qualified candidates can expect to earn between $86,000 to $113,000 depending on experience. Well-qualified candidates may expect to earn more.
