AeroGo is at an exciting point in its technology journey. For many years, we have relied on a highly capable Managed Service Provider (MSP) to support our IT environment. As our company continues to grow, we are making a strategic investment in building an internal IT function and are seeking our first dedicated IT Manager to lead that effort.
This role offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of IT operations while partnering with an established MSP that knows our business, systems, and infrastructure. During the first year, you will work closely with our MSP to learn our environment, processes, and business systems. Over time, you will become the primary internal IT leader, with the MSP transitioning into a specialized support and escalation role.
The IT Manager is a key member of the Finance/IT team responsible for ownership of AeroGo's day-to-day IT operations. This role serves as the primary internal IT resource for employees and systems along with liaison with external MSP. Responsible of management and maintenance of core IT infrastructure including servers, network, backups, Microsoft O365, and cloud applications. This role reports to the Financial Controller and currently has no supervisory responsibilities. This is an on-site position (no remote work)., * Provide exceptional IT support and customer service to employees, minimizing downtime and supporting productivity.
- Manage onboarding/offboarding of employees (accounts, devices, access).
- Maintain Microsoft 365 environment (email, licensing, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams).
- Manage and maintain on-premise server environment (Hyper-V, VMware, Windows Server, Active Directory).
- Oversee file storage systems, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
- Maintain network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, VPN access, wireless).
- Monitor system health and performance.
- Support and maintain security best practices (endpoint protection, MFA, encryption, patching).
- Assist with compliance efforts related to CMMC.
- Coordinate third-party vendors for software, hardware, and services.
- Act as primary liaison with managed service provider (MSP) escalating issues as needed while maintaining ownership internally.
- Lead or support IT projects (system upgrades, migrations, process improvements).
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance security.
- Document systems, processes, and configurations.
- Manage VOIP infrastructure.
- Manage all IT inventory, warranties, PC refresh program.
- System Admin for SAP Business byDesign controlling user accounts and assisting with frontend and backend support needs.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * US Citizen, due to the security requirements from our customers
- 5+ years of hands-on IT experience (Systems Administrator, IT Management, or similar).
- Experience supporting small to mid-sized businesses (50-200 employees) providing in-person customer support to internal staff.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server & Active Directory, Virtualization (Hyper-V or VMware), Microsoft 365 administration, and Networking fundamentals (firewalls, VPNs, switches).
- Experience with endpoint security tools and backup systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot a wide range of IT issues and work independently.
- Strong communication skills-able to explain technical topics in plain language.
Preferred
- Certifications: Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+ a plus.
- Familiarity with CAD/PDM systems (e.g., SolidWorks) or ERP systems (e.g., SAP) preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Exposure to compliance frameworks (CMMC).
- Experience working alongside or managing MSPs.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
- Familiarity with tools such as Veeam (backups), Sophos (endpoint security), Meraki (network security), Unifi (networking), NinjaOne (active directory management) preferred.
- Website security and hosting., While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Also required is the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time, to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders and stairs, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool, as necessary. Must be able to walk extended distances over uneven ground while wearing proper PPE.
