Job description

We are looking for a Cisco Network Operations Engineers to join our team of talented engineers/architects supporting a large DoD Federal customer. The position is located in San Francisco.

The Cisco Network Operations Engineers will ensure implementation of best practice solutions for network data communications services. They will manage and implement network solutions using Cisco network products and technologies including but not limited to Cisco ISR 43xx/45xx/ASR 100x/Cisco Cat 9k/Cat 4k; OSPF/EIGRP, F5 Load Balancers, Spanning Tree, Virtual Switch Stack (VSS), IP Subnetting, IP Routing and Switching.

The Engineers will provide Tier 2/3 support, implement and monitor network plans.

Description of Daily Duties:

  • Provide support to internal teams and Federal Agency on data networks and applications.
  • Work with internal teams and Federal Agency to manage, troubleshoot and monitor data solutions leveraging Routing Protocols (OSPF/BGP), Switching technologies (Spanning Tree, VSS).
  • Manage and maintain data network and systems using Cisco Product lines.
  • Monitor Network performance using Solarwinds and take steps to ensure optimal performance.
  • Resolve issues related to Data Networks and escalate to Tier IV if required,
  • Implement and troubleshoot enterprise network -related solutions/incidents/system outages
  • Respond to escalated incidents and service requests from Delivery/Operations Teams

Requirements

Do you have experience in Network configuration management tools?, * Public Trust Clearance or DoD Secret or higher.

  • Cisco certifications preferred ( not required ! ): CCNA
  • 3-5 years of experience with data networks with emphasis in Routing Protocols (OSPF/EIGRP), Switching Technologies (Spanning Tree, VSS).
  • Experience with Cisco Prime, Solarwinds Engineers ToolSet, SecureCRT, ServiceNow.
  • Cisco Platforms and Adjunct Administration, Maintenance, and Installation
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with project teams and managers as a service provider
  • Strong team player and team mentor
