Job description
- Develop and create technical drawings and documents essential for construction and project execution.
- Take responsibility for all substation Control and Protection design, calculation, and documentation
- Take responsibility for Control and Protection system with sub suppliers
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs comply with customer requirements and local regulations/standards.
- Conduct necessary clarifications on components, supplies, services, and control and protection systems.
- Participate actively in testing and commissioning activities, working closely with commissioning engineers on-site.
- Engage with factories and suppliers across Europe to support project needs.
- Lead, supervise and coordinate all Secondary Engineer scope and sub-suppliers to secure the integrity, completeness and correct function of the substation system.
- Take responsibility for all substation Control and Protection design, calculation, and documentation (Base design, Detail Design, "As Built", etc. up to project close-out)
- Take responsibility for preparation of relevant procedures related to projectscope.
- Making technical recommendations in the Control and Protection design, engineering and execution phases of customer projects to ensure all actions are completed according to process requirements and standards, while identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
- Assist in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects (protection and measuring equipment technical specifications, cabling estimates and validation of equipment etc.) for Sales support.
- Creating and delivering the Control and Protection scope-specific work planning, resource requirements, proposals, engineering estimates, and risk and opportunity analysis.
- Provide technical support for testing, installation and commissioning activities.
- Maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction by providing continued dialogue and excellent service at all stages of the project.
- Collaborating and networking with engineering colleagues, sharing best practice across different projects and disciplines, developing your leadership, coordination and communication skills with the support of the local and international teams.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar field.
- Broad knowledge in substation Control and Protection engineering and execution.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering department or site works.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
- A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies.
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with strong communication skills to quickly resolve project related activities and issues.
- The following will be considered positively:
- Knowledge of electrical design software (EPLAN, E3) and Autocad.
- Knowledge of Power Systems, Renewable Energy and Transmission Systems.
- Knowledge of control systems, SCADA and programming.
- Knowledge of IED tools as PCM600 or similar
- Knowledge of Norwegian laws for power systems
- Experience of commissioning, testing of protections, secondary and primary injections.
- Fluent in English and Norwegian, both spoken and written.
