Job description
The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist, under direction from the GIS Department Manager, will provide GIS and support services to company staff as directed. GIS services include the creation and maintenance of data, maps, and graphs using GIS software and related programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Digitize geographic features.

Support and maintain geodatabases.

Gather, analyze, and integrate data using GIS software.

Create maps and graphs using GIS software and related equipment.

Compile and analyze geographic data from a variety of sources, including field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, existing maps, and online sources.

Operate GIS system hardware, software, plotter, and printer.

Assist in maintaining and updating GIS software and programs as required.

Maintain GIS supply inventory and order supplies.

Perform other job duties as assigned.

Strictly adheres to State, Federal, and company driving policies, journey management instructions and policies.

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in GIS or GIS Certificate is preferred.

Minimum of two years of experience with ESRI ArcGIS, geography, computer science, or related field.

A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of the bachelor's degree.

Knowledge of geographic science and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Understanding of fundamental cartographic concepts and skills
-
Working understanding of ESRI's ArcGIS Pro 6.3 or higher.

Experience with ArcGIS Online and Field Maps preferred.

Familiarity with data organization practices.

Ability to create and edit shapefiles or geodatabase feature classes is required.

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite

Familiarity with PDF creation required.

Anchorage office-based position is strongly preferred., Meet the ASRC Energy Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.
Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.
Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam
Required to complete and successfully pass a background check.
Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
