Job description
Improvix Technologies is seeking a Power Platform Engineer to modernize mission-critical systems supporting the U.S. Department of State. This role is ideal for an engineer who builds scalable, enterprise-grade Power Platform solutions and thrives on transforming legacy tools into secure, intuitive applications.
You will leverage Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse to deliver modern solutions while shaping platform standards and guiding adoption across the organization.
This position requires regular onsite collaboration with stakeholders and mission teams in Washington, DC.
What You'll Do
Modernize Legacy Systems
- Evaluate existing .NET and legacy tools and design modernization strategies using Power Platform
- Determine when to rebuild, re-architect, or integrate with existing enterprise systems
Design & Build Enterprise Power Platform Solutions
- Develop canvas and model-driven Power Apps using scalable architecture
- Build advanced Power Automate workflows and integrations
- Design and implement Dataverse data models and governance controls
- Integrate APIs, Azure services, and enterprise data sources
Prototype & Innovate
- Deliver rapid proofs-of-concept demonstrating modern low-code capabilities
- Translate complex business needs into intuitive, user-focused solutions
Platform Leadership
- Establish development standards, solution architecture patterns, and governance best practices
- Mentor users and technical staff on sustainable app design and maintenance
Documentation & Training
- Produce technical documentation and deliver training to technical and non-technical audiences
Requirements
Do you have experience in Technology security practices?, * 5+ years of application development experience
- 3+ years building enterprise Power Platform solutions
- Hands-on experience with:
- Power Apps (Canvas & Model-driven)
- Power Automate (advanced workflows & integrations)
- Dataverse schema design & security model
- Power Fx and solution architecture
- Experience integrating APIs and enterprise data sources
- Understanding of platform governance, security, and lifecycle management
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- U.S. citizenship required
- Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
Preferred Experience
- Federal or high-compliance environments
- Azure services & secure cloud architecture
- Power BI integration & data visualization
- DevOps, CI/CD, and ALM for Power Platform
- Agile/Scrum delivery environments
- UX/UI design best practices
