Job description
The Senior Citrix Engineer position will work directly with our users and management to plan and direct work across our Citrix environments.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows support?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a team. You will have excellent attention to detail and be able to prioritize your workload, whether it be production escalation issues, tickets or wider projects.
You will have a background in Microsoft Windows with experience in supporting, configuring, and installing Windows Servers. You will be experienced in using PowerShell to automate repetitive tasks across large IT estates.
You will be experienced in designing, building, and supporting Citrix Desktop Virtualization environments globally, and presenting these environments to a variety of clients as a managed service.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- 10+ years' experience in managing, administering, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server OS, VMware virtualization platforms and other hypervisor technologies
- Proven experience in design/implementation/support of Windows Active Directory (AD) services, FSMO, DNS, replication, GPO and secure configuration
- Experience in deploying Citrix environments (on-prem/hybrid/cloud) from scratch or upgrading/migrating existing deployments (minimum 7.15/1912)
- Proven experience implementing and supporting SAML/SSO deployments
- Deep experience in the Citrix lifecycle from architectural design to support and maintenance including ADC/NetScaler (13.0+), Citrix Cloud (DaaS), Virtual Apps, Citrix ADM, WEM, Storefront, XenApp, XenDesktop, High Availability, resiliency/redundancy, GSLB etc
- A knowledge of scripting (PowerShell preferred) and performing tasks remotely through automation (Jenkins, ServiceNow, RPA)
- Experience in cloud computing including AWS, Azure and cloud native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, VPC's, etc.)
- Experience with monitoring and automation tools (ControlUp. Opsramp, PDQDeploy etc.)
- Proven ability to communicate professionally in a corporate environment
- Knowledge of Jira/Confluence and ServiceNow would be advantageous
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs and network routing principles
- Knowledge of IT Service Management principles, ideally ITILv3/4/5 certified
- Experience in Team leadership skills including mentoring, coaching, project management, workload delegation, stakeholder communication and vendor management
- This is a unique role that combines hands-on experience with architectural oversight and people management
