Requirements

Do you have experience in Software development?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, We're looking for someone who is genuinely excited about the intersection of AI and engineering practice, and who has the initiative to define the value of their own role. The impact of this position will be largely shaped by the person who fills it. If you are self-directed, curious, and technically capable, this role offers a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up inside an established firm., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML tools, large language models, or automation frameworks - whether through coursework, personal projects, or internships
  • Strong programming skills, particularly in Python; experience with scripting, APIs, or workflow automation is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable operating in areas without clear answers or established processes
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative - this role requires someone who can define their own priorities and drive progress without close supervision
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; you will be translating technical findings into practical recommendations for engineering staff and leadership

General Expectations

We want to be transparent: this role is exploratory by nature. We believe there is real value to be unlocked - but we don't know exactly where it is yet. The right candidate will be energized by that ambiguity, not frustrated by it.

You will have access to leadership, real projects, and the freedom to experiment. What you make of this position is genuinely up to you. We are investing in someone who will take ownership and show us what's possible.

About the company

This is a brand-new position - and an uncommon one. We are a civil engineering firm that designs infrastructure, manages stormwater systems, and delivers complex projects for our clients. We believe artificial intelligence has the potential to change how we work, but we haven't fully explored what that looks like yet.
