Job description
You will serve as a foundational force in our Design & Technical division, transforming conceptual ideas into accurate, competitive cost models. This role empowers you to drive project viability from the earliest stages, directly influencing our win rate on major commercial and industrial builds. You will have the unique opportunity to leverage lean construction practices while steering high-value proposals from conception to contract. How You Will Make an Impact
- Generate highly accurate take-offs and comprehensive cost estimates directly from early conceptual designs without full drawing sets.
- Operate Procore to seamlessly develop bids, compile estimates, and establish project documentation for the field operations team.
- Collaborate deeply with Project Managers and Superintendents to analyze constructability, site logistics, schedule durations, and risk factors.
- Navigate and interpret complex building codes, project plans, and technical specifications to ensure complete structural compliance.
- Formulate strategic solutions for client challenges during site reviews of existing facilities to maximize project value.
- Lead pre-bid meetings and author precise clarification questions for owners and design professionals to eliminate contract ambiguities.
- Accelerate the procurement process by establishing subcontractor lists and helping issue vital material purchase orders.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of dedicated construction estimating experience with a strong focus on Design/Build frameworks.
- Proven proficiency in executing accurate take-offs and estimates from incomplete or conceptual design documents.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial or industrial construction methodologies, building codes, and blueprint reading.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain accuracy in a rapid, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of working hours to evaluate regional project sites and meet with stakeholders., * Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a highly related structural discipline.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing Procore or equivalent construction estimation and project management software.
- Existing network of regional subcontractors and suppliers to aid in competitive procurement.
