Job description
A typical day for a Security Engineer II involves managing and supporting the security posture of Castle Biosciences' IT environment. Responsibilities include serving as an escalation point for SNOC and Help Desk security-related issues. The role begins with monitoring and reviewing security dashboards, alerts, and threat activity, followed by engineering and project-based work. Approximately 60% of the role is focused on security projects, system improvements, and troubleshooting complex security and network-related issues. Daily activities include designing, implementing, and managing security controls across on-premises and cloud environments; monitoring, investigating, and responding to security incidents and vulnerabilities; and supporting compliance and security governance initiatives.
Requirements
Do you have experience in VPN management?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in information security engineering, security operations, or cybersecurity infrastructure.
- Required Certifications: One or more of the following or equivalent: CompTIA Security+; GIAC (GSEC or similar);Cisco CCNA Security or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM platforms, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management tools.
- Experience configuring and supporting VPNs, secure network connectivity, and hybrid cloud security solutions.
