Job description

United Theranostics is hiring a Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, security, and support of our enterprise network and cloud infrastructure across a growing healthcare organization.

This is a hands-on role focused primarily on network engineering within AWS and hybrid environments. You will help build and scale secure infrastructure supporting multiple clinic locations and critical healthcare systems.

What You'll Do

  • Design and manage enterprise network architecture (routing, switching, segmentation, VPNs, IPSec)
  • Support AWS cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure
  • Configure, harden, and maintain servers and core systems
  • Troubleshoot complex network and infrastructure issues
  • Support multi-site connectivity and new clinic deployments
  • Strengthen cybersecurity posture and HIPAA compliance
  • Manage Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, and endpoint devices
  • Oversee vendors, hardware, licensing, and infrastructure implementations

Requirements

Do you have experience in VPN management?, * Strong hands-on network engineering experience (primary requirement)

  • Experience with AWS and cloud networking
  • Deep knowledge of routers, switches, VPNs, and infrastructure security
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues independently
  • Experience in fast-paced or startup environments
  • Strong vendor and infrastructure management skills
  • Ability to learn healthcare systems quickly and work independently

Nice to Have

  • Healthcare IT experience (PACS, HL7, DICOM)
  • Experience in regulated or HIPAA-compliant environments
  • Microsoft Intune and Active Directory experience
  • Hybrid cloud infrastructure experience

Work Environment

  • Onsite role in Bethesda, MD
  • Occasional after-hours/weekend support for critical issues (no formal on-call schedule)
  • Fast-moving startup environment with high ownership and visibility

Experience Level

Strong hands-on networking experience is required, with the ability to quickly identify issues and resolve them independently., * Briefly describe your hands-on experience managing cloud and infrastructure environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including the most complex production system you've owned or built.

  • Describe your experience working in HIPAA-regulated or other healthcare environments, especially with identity management, security controls, or clinical data systems such as HL7, DICOM, or PACS.
